Ways to eat beef jerky

Ways to eat beef jerky, other than straight from the packet

Most of our customers eat our beef jerky straight from the packet as a tasty snack, but did you know there are other ways to include our jerky into your main meals? Follow these jerky recipe tips to add a punch of flavour, and added protein to your cooking. Our jerky is soft and moist making it a perfect addition to your meals.

Tasty Egg Omelets

Finely dice some Mallory Tocino traditional beef jerky and add it to your morning egg omelet. For a slightly more spicy option, try our Sweet Chilli Beef Jerky, or if you are even more game, our Super Hot Beef Jerky. Of course, if you are not a beef eater, we can highly recommend our butter chicken jerky or original pork jerky. They both work just as well.

Meaty Baked Beans

Chop any of our flavoured beef jerky into small bite-sized pieces. Add the chopped jerky to the baked beans before heating. This gives the beans a unique flavour boost. It turns breakfast into a filling wholesome protein meal. A great healthy start to your busy day.

Fried Rice

Our finely chopped beef jerky adds more savoury flavour to your favourite fried rice recipe.

This is our favourite fried rice, with the addition of Mallorys Tocino jerky recipe.

INGREDIENTS:

3 cups of cooked rice
2 Tablespoons of sesame oil
1 small chopped white onion
1 cup frozen peas and carrots, thawed
2-3 Tablespoons soy sauce (add more or less to taste)
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 Tbsp chopped green onions (optional)
Half a cup of finely diced beef jerky, pork jerky, or chicken jerky. (You could even add a mixture of all of all three)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat a large frypan or wok to medium heat, then pour the sesame oil in the bottom. Add the white onion, peas, and carrots. Fry them until tender.
Push the onion, peas and carrots to the side of the wok or frypan, and pour the beaten eggs onto the other side.

Using a spatula, scramble the eggs. Once cooked, mix the eggs with the vegetable mix.

Add the diced jerky to the mix and gently heat through.

Add the cooked rice to the veggie, egg and jerky mixture.

Pour the soy sauce on top (this is optional. You may enjoy the flavour the jerky brings to the recipe).

Stir and fry the rice, jerky & veggie mixture until heated through and combined. Add chopped green onions if desired.

Baked Jacket Potatoes

Instead of garnishing your baked potato with bacon bits, add finely chopped beef jerky. Put the jerky directly on the warm potato and add cheese and/or sour cream and green onions on top. The steam from the hot potato will moisten the jerky and make it even more tender.

Soups and Stews

Our Australian grass-fed beef jerky is a great addition to any stew or soup. It will add punch to the flavour and will become a little more tender and moist.

Do you have any other recipes where you add jerky? We would love to hear them!  Mallorys Tocino jerky is more than just a tasty protein snack!
